Police are investigating a possible hate crime after a swastika was painted on a mural depicting a Jewish player for the Sacramento Kings. Police say they received a report of the backward swastika painted on a mural of Omri Casspi, the only NBA player born in Israel, in the midtown area about noon Wednesday.

Guard Tyreke Evans was suspended by the NBA for the season opener at Minnesota on Oct. 27 for his arrest and charge of excessive speeding on Interstate 80 in Sacramento.
The Rookie of the Year was clocked going 130 mph before being pulled over and arrested without incident for the May 31 nine-mile romp. He pleaded no contest. His driver's license was suspended and he was sentenced to 80 hours of community service, in addition to speaking at the CHP's Start Smart safe-driving class for teenagers.
Evans isn't the first Kings player to draw the ire of NBA commissioner David Stern. In the last 10 years, he has handed down suspensions to Chris Webber, Jason Williams, Brad Miller and Maurice Taylor for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy.

Brandon Rush of the Indiana Pacers was suspended for five games by the NBA on Friday for violating the league's drug agreement, while Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings and Kenny Hasbrouck of the Miami Heat drew suspensions for driving offenses. Rush was suspended without pay for five games for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.

Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans was given a one-game suspension by the NBA for pleading no contest to reckless driving earlier this offseason, the league announced on Friday. Watch Evans' reckless driving arrest Evans was picked up for driving at speeds of up to 130 mph on I-80. In addition to announcing the Evans suspension, the NBA suspended Pacers guard Brandon Rush for five games for violating the league's anti-drug policy. The NBA also suspended Heat guard Kenny Hasbrouck for two games of pleading guilty to driving while intoxicated.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Andres Nocioni will miss the FIBA World Championship with a left-ankle injury. The Associated Press reports the Sixers, who traded for Nocioni in June, advised him to skip the tournament.
